A number of notable Music City indie acts - including Caitlin Rose, JEFF the Brotherhood, Amanda Shires, Erin Enderlin and Griffin House - are part of a new tribute to rock songwriting great Nick Lowe, entitled Lowe Country: The Songs of Nick Lowe.
The tribute to Lowe - composer of rock classics such as "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding" and "Cruel to Be Kind" - will be released on September 18 and also features contributions from Hayes Carll, Robert Ellis, Lori McKenna, Ron Sexsmith and others.
Proceeds from Lowe Country will benefit victims of the 2010 Nashville floods and Texas wildfires of 2011. The album is the first release from new Texas-based indie label Fiesta Red Records.
